Program aims to teach students the importance of wildlife and the skill of photography.
Rajasthan, 21st March, 2015:
Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) celebrated World Forestry
Day by organizing a unique photography expedition tour called MAAC
KLICKS for 35 students in the Sariska National Park. MAAC, in
collaboration with the
photography expedition tour, DCP Expeditions guided and trained
students in the art of photography. This subsequently taught them the
importance of forests and the flora and fauna that resides in them.
Located among the Aravalli Hills and home to ‘Project Tiger’, the
park covers an area of 800 square kilometres and is one of the first
reserves in the world to have successfully relocated tigers. It was
known to be the hunting reserve of the Royal Family of Alwar in
Rajasthan before being declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1958.
Tanmay
Haldar, a nature enthusiast, avid traveller and skilled wild life
photographer, led the training program. He is a highly acclaimed
photographer that has been recognized on various forums such as National
Geographic Traveller, Canon India, and Smart Photography Magazine. He
was also a panellist at the DCP Expeditions. The photography
competition will allow students to nurture their creative streak that is
an essential component in the animation, media and entertainment
industry.
Mr. Shajan Samuel Sr. Vice President MAAC and National Head of Events for MAAC says,
“The event was a unique opportunity for students to leave the
classroom and actively engage in a surrounding that would allow them to
not only hone their photography skills but also to test their creativity
and imagination in a real life setting. The unique experience will also
educate them on the importance of conserving the environment.”
