As
a school that is constantly adding new dimensions to Business education
by promoting a spirit of free-spirited thinking and firing the
enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, Prin. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research Weschool has launched 'wedvaan’ , The Thought Leaders' Conclave to be held between 22-24 Feb 2013. ‘wedvaan’
is a management festival with a difference; it is a festival of ideas
that comprises of unique workshops to promote objectives of
free-spirited enquiry and entrepreneurship. As the theme for ‘wedvaan’
is ‘Thought Leadership’, it will bring forth different perspectives to
Curiosity, Observation and Innovative management practices.
Thought
leadership isn't just for individuals. Businesses, whether large and
small, want and can be thought leaders. Thought leadership extends from
strategic differentiation, a proof point, a demonstration of
differentiation. Amid the cacophony of corporate voices, those found to
be additive to the dialogue, rather than distracting, can be considered
thought leaders. Given our complex world, there are many things that
need to be considered, so providing true thought leadership can be as
valuable to a brand as the products or services it sells. ‘wedvaan’
promises to be a unique platform where the events are designed to
address the emerging unarticulated needs and realities of corporates
and society that need new approaches both in terms of thought as well
as action. It will bring together industry leaders, emerging
entrepreneurs, visionaries and inquisitive students to lay the
foundation for redefining current leadership.
Events
like mash-up and Jugaad Live focus on issues that are pain points of
today that will provide triggers for innovation for tomorrow, thus
highlighting the pivotal needs of today’s corporate scenario. All
competitions that are unique in design and execution will focus on
seeking Innovative excellence in management practices. All of those
involved like corporates, students and organizers will have an unmatched
involvement and acquaintance through the journey of ‘wedvaan ’.
‘wedvaan’ is
a wonderful platform for the budding Innovators to learn to see
constraints not as a destabilizing challenge but as an opportunity to
innovate and overcome these very constraints. This management fest with a
difference is a manifestation of WeSchool’s commitment to adapt design
thinking approach in all its endeavours to nurture the global citizen
leaders. After all today’s discomforts are tomorrow’s opportunities and
must be taken head on for benefit of all stakeholders in the society.

event is conceptualized to test creativity of B-School students by
letting them create a Brand New Board Game with rules created by them.
The participating teams belonging to management schools from all over
India would design their own board game, which would be judged by a
famous Board Game Company. IF the
idea proposed by the winning team is feasible and original then the
company has the option of buying the idea from the team and
manufacturing the game. The winner shall receive a certificate as well
as a monetary reward from the Company.
