Lavasa Corporation ties up with School of Social Work, Rutgers University to deliver Certificate Program in Training Skills

Mumbai, February 25, 2014: Lavasa Corporation Limited has entered into a partnership with School of Social Work, a part of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey to offer Certificate in Training Skills program at Lavasa.

The School of Social Work conducts exceptional training programs to enhance professional growth and strengthen organizations and the communities served by the participants. The partnership with Rutgers is part of the endeavour to build Lavasa as a centre of excellence for education.”
The 4 day intensive program scheduled to be held at Lavasa from April 24 to April 27, 2014. The program is designed to provide comprehensive training and professional development to people interested in becoming trainers, or who want to upgrade their presentation and group leadership skills; and to supervisors who train their own workers to make presentations. It is based on the premise that the best training goes far beyond simply presenting material. The program utilizes methods that engage the learner in every facet of the training experience. When learners are connected to the material - they retain it.
Participants will learn how to design, and deliver memorable and effective trainings. Based on how adults learn, the skills covered in the program help increase knowledge retention and satisfaction from participants. Regardless of what the topic is, the skills acquired through the program help make presentations more effective.
People with some work or volunteer experience as a trainer, teacher, or supervisor, and fluency in English can participate in the 4 day intensive program.

Aptech Computer Education conducts Techno Minds 2014: West Zone

Mumbai, 24 February 2014: Techno Minds, an inter-centre competition, organized by Aptech Computer Education - the flagship brand of Aptech Limited saw more than 500 participants come together in Mumbai to exhibit their technical skills through a project application using technologies learnt in their IT course curriculum on the 21st of February, 2014.
The projects followed the norms of real time project requirements. Thus the students were thoroughly exposed to project management skills which will enhance their job prospects on showcasing their work.  The projects were short listed and the best works were showcased before an eminent jury comprising Mr. Mark D’souza - Director - Audience Marketing Microsoft and Mr. Ravi Manohar – VP IT Solutions Infinx Solutions. Besides awarding the top projects, other participants whose projects got short listed were given a certificate of participation.

IET ties up with IEEMA for information exchange Agreement to pave the way for joint activities, knowledge dissemination and efforts to improve engineering education in India

Mumbai, March 7 - The Institution of Engineering and Technology Services India, (IET) one of the world's largest multi-disciplinary professional societies of engineers and technicians, has joined hands with Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA), the apex association of manufacturers of electrical, industrial electronics and allied equipment in India.
 
The agreement is aimed to facilitate the exchange and dissemination of technical information between the two organizations. This would cover three primary areas  --joint events and activities; dissemination of knowledge, and efforts to improve the state of engineering education in India.
 
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will make it easier for the two leading organisations to work together to plan technical lectures and talks as well as to jointly develop programmes, activities and materials aimed at enhancing the quality of engineering education in India. This will include forums, conferences, publications, standards, educational materials and awards.
 
Shekhar Sanyal, Director and Country Head, the IET India, said: “We believe this agreement will promote co-operation and understanding between our two organisations and will go a long way in furthering technology awareness among the general public and students of engineering. With its tremendous potential to impact the engineering and technology scene in India, the agreement demonstrates the IET’s commitment to this aspect of the country’s economy”.

Mahindra École Centrale (MEC) - College of Engineering, announces admissions to its inaugural batch at Hyderabad, in India

Hyderabad 7th March 2014: Mahindra École Centrale (MEC) is a College of Engineering established through a three-way collaboration involving Mahindra Group, École Centrale Paris, a 200 year old leading French University dedicated to engineering education and the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad. This institution, situated in Hyderabad, India, will be based on a contemporary & international academic program.
MEC is announcing admissions for the Integrated Dual Degree Program to its inaugural batch set to commence in August 2014 from its sprawling green campus at Bahadurpally, Hyderabad.
180 seats are available for this five year Integrated Dual Degree Program (IDP) of Mahindra École Centrale leading to B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees of Jawaharlal Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH). There would be 60 seats each in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering and 30 seats each in Mechanical and Civil Engineering streams.
