Week-end Family Business Management Diploma Programme

NMIMS has the distinction of offering a unique Diploma (Week-end)
Programme for members of business families who are looking for suitable
opportunity to learn newer skills in management and to develop a better
understanding of the fast-changing Indian and
global business environment. More and more business families in the
SME sector are feeling the need to enhance their knowledge base and
expand their horizons beyond today’s profits.
The
NMIMS week-end programme in Management of Family Businesses is an ideal
opportunity for a sustained
one year (two semesters) learning, through classroom lectures by
learned faculty having long experience of working in business and
industry, assignments, project on students’ own family businesses, class
room presentations by students, guest lectures by experts
and above all, interaction with other participants from different
family businesses. A small batch size facilitates this learning process.
Classes are held on Saturdays (full day) and Sundays (half day).
The
programme aims at inspiring the participants to act as “CHANGE AGENTS”
for their family businesses by
spreading awareness in their family businesses about the great
possibilities of raising performance levels and achieving a faster
growth.
In
selecting the participants through an extensive interview by a panel of
experienced faculty and a Family
business owner, we look for candidates with good communication ability,
good understanding of business trends and one’s own business and a
total commitment to learning. There is no age bar. We have had
participants up to the age of 50 years–both men and women.
Our past participants have expressed their great happiness at being able to understand their own roles in
a new light and introduce new approaches in the management of their family businesses.
An NMIMS University Diploma is awarded at the end of the two semesters to successful owner-manager participants.
We are now in the process of receiving applications for the 16th batch (2014-15) of this unique programme.
