PRESS RELEASE : Vedanta Foundation launches Vocational Training & Chartered Accountancy Coaching Centre in Thane

Mumbai, 11th November 2014: Vedanta Foundation today launched a new coaching centre at Vedanta College of Management and Information Technology, Thane. The Foundation has collaborated with The Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (ICAI) to render underprivileged and aspirant youth assistance through free coaching classes.
Vedanta Foundation also, launched a vocational training center in collaboration with Agnel Institute of Technical Training and Entrepreneurship Development (AITTED) at Vedanta College of Management and Information Technology, Thane.
Speaking on the initiatives, Dr Lona Nayak, CEO, Vedanta Foundation said, “Most important step of any coaching and training centre is to assemble a batch of students who are motivated and focused on perusing a career as a CA, beautician, fashion designer, mechanic or an IT technician. Vedanta Foundation has taken up the challenge to provide excellent training to the deserving meritorious underprivileged students thus providing opportunity to many aspiring candidates”.
Chartered accountancy coaching classes will begin in November with 50 Common Proficiency Test (CPT) students in the initial batch and in due course the range of activities and the coverage of its modules will be extended progressively (Integrated Professional Competence Course and CA Finals). The classes will be held for five days a week for a duration of three months. Besides providing basic infrastructure for learning, the students will also be provided required study material. 
 
Students with at least 60% in Higher Secondary School examination (12th standard examination) and belonging to below poverty line (BPL) families are eligible. The foundation has also, successfully established a Chartered Accountancy coaching centre of Common Proficiency Test (CPT) in Kolkata.
In the professional vocational centers, courses such as beautician, fashion designing, computer hardware and motor mechanic will be offered to the students at a cost of Rs. 5000 per course. The 10 months course starting from November will be held six days a week. Students will be provided training along with educational kits consisting of bags, watches, books as well as job assistance.
The vocational training centre was inaugurated by Fr. Victor, Director, Fr. Agnel Training Institute, while CA coaching center was inaugurated by CA Anil Bhandari, Chairman, Western India Regional Council of ICAI. Also present on the occasion were Ms. Suman Gupta, Chief Financial Officer and Mr. Taher Vohra, Zonal head- West of Vedanta Foundation.
