TSM crafts Cathedral & John Connon School’s music curriculum

The two-year course on Western Music will be introduced as the sixth subject in the ICSE syllabus this academic year

MUMBAI, 23^rd March, 2015: One of India’s most prestigious educational institutions, The Cathedral & John Connon School has collaborated with Mumbai’s music education visionaries, True School of Music (TSM), to introduce Western Music as the sixth subject in the ICSE syllabus from this academic year.

TSM has launched three two-year courses with Cathedral School that commence this year with Class 9 students. In all three courses, students can opt for lessons in keyboard or vocal techniques that are at par with Grade 4 of Trinity College, London’s curriculum.

The difference in the courses has largely to do with the specializations opted for by the students. The ICSE Western Music course teaches one the basics of the techniques while also strengthening one’s understanding of Western Music and musical influences. The ICSE + TSM Producer course teaches all of that and also offers song writing and music production 101 in the first year and composition and production of an album in the second year. The ICSE + TSM Performer course offers the student a chance to be a part of a performance workshop for any instrument at the True School of Music.
