Kozhikode, 18 December, 2014: The
Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) receives an
international accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) for its
Executive PG Program conducted at its satellite campus in Kochi.
AMBA
accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement in
postgraduate business education and is earned only by the best
programmes. The AMBA network currently includes 33 accredited
institutes in Asia. AMBA has accredited over 200 business schools
located in more than 70 countries.
Commenting on this achievement, Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Director (in-charge), IIMK said, “This
accreditation gives us a global recognition and helps us achieve a
standard, which is respected worldwide. In the changing face of higher
education, such awards and authenticity opens doors to many avenues and
potential partnerships particularly for Executive PG programs”.
IIMK – Kochi campus started its 1st batch of Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) in 2013. The
Kochi campus, located at Infopark, Kakkanad is an extension of its main
campus in Kozhikode catering to the needs of executives working in the
emerging metros of Kochi, Trivandrum, Coimbatore etc.
The
2 year part time EPGP is offered from the Kochi campus with about 1000
contact hours and is designed specifically for working executives
seeking leadership roles. 
The
programme admits graduates with at least 3 years of experience in
supervisory/managerial/administrative and/or technical roles including
services, manufacturing, KPO/BPO, Government, and any other organized
sector. The response received for the first two batch has been
overwhelming indicating large pool of executives with technical
expertise willing to acquire skills and knowledge to advance their
careers in managerial roles. AMBA accreditation is likely to further
enhance the appeal of these programs offered at IIMK’s Kochi campus.
