Bayer Foundation’s Science Summer Camp invites Indian students
Mumbai, March 14, 2016
– An exciting educational program for junior scientists: the Bayer
Science & Education Foundation is awarding 25 scholarships this year
for the Bayer Science Camp in Denver, United States. 10 scholarships
are open to school students from Germany, five each to young people from
the United States and India, and for the first time another five spots
to youngsters from Africa.
“Through
our Science Teens Program, we want to get talented junior scientists
excited about medical advancements and network them internationally,”
explains Thimo V. Schmitt-Lord, Executive Director of the Bayer
Foundations.
The
theme of the science camps is “Life Science and Medical Health Issues,”
and will again be conducted this year in partnership with the
prestigious STEM Harmony education center at the University of Colorado,
United States. The young people will conduct research into scientific
and medical health issues under professional conditions, exchange views
with scientists and perform experiments in the mountains. The camp will
take place from July 25 to August 8 in Denver, Colorado.
Applicants
should be between the ages of 14 and 16 and have good grades in
scientific subjects, a very good command of the English language and a
strong interest in medical health issues.

The
completed form should be submitted together with a one-page essay in
English on the “Role of the life sciences in health and society,” copies
of grade reports, a certificate of good health from a physician, and a
passport photo to csr.india@bayer..com / chaitanya.krishna@bayer.com
. The certificate of good health from a physician must certify that
students are indeed in good health and can participate in physical
activities at altitudes. The deadline for applications is March 31,
2016.
