Club, a venture of the esteemed AISECT Group, has won the prestigious World
Education Award 2016 for the ‘Innovative Intervention in Pre-School Teaching
& Learning’ category. Ms. Pallavi Rao Chaturvedi (Founder, Brainy Bear

Education Summitin Dubai. They received the award fromDr.AyoubKazim
(Managing Director, Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic
City) and Mr. V. Radhakrishnan (State Minister of Education, Sri Lanka)
who were the Guests of Honourat the ceremony.
World Education Summit (WES), organized by Elets Technomedia, is the
world’s premier platform on education for everyone who is passionate about
education and learning. Over the years, the Summit has become the largest
gathering of education leaders. WES 2016 aimed
to recognise, highlight, honour and encourage leading
models, projects, processes of excellence and sustainable innovation in school
and higher education. The Awards, which were a part of the Summit, saw
entrepreneurs in the education space getting recognized, giving the award
winners a platform to showcase their innovations and best practices. There were
70 award nominations across 40 categories.
Brainy Bear is one of the fastest growing
pre-school and activity club chains of India. Launched in December 2014, it has
set-up
16 centers across multiple states within a year with over 500 students studying
across the centers at present.Brainy Bear was nominated for the award because
through its innovative intervention, it has challenged and effectively changed
the conventional pre-school norms. The pre-school & activity club chain has
confronted the archaic models of teaching and replaced them with new and
innovative models.
Brainy Bear’s Founder Ms. Pallavi Rao
Chaturvedi credited the success to the effort of all the staff, students and
management that have hugely contributed towards the growth. She said, “Through
Brainy Bear, we have endeavored to bring in a modern and activity-based
mode of learning. The team has worked hard to promote this new mode of learning
in the past year and a lot of rigorous efforts have gone into the R&D that
was done for over two years before the launch. So, it feels great that our
efforts have been acknowledged at such a prestigious platform and encourages us
to work harder to increase the brand’s presence nationally over the next few
years.”
Brainy Bear’s unique Mother Toddler Programme
(MTP) is an activity-based integrated learning that stimulates the child’s
development in language, social/emotional, physical and cognitive areas. It
also addresses the visual, auditory and kinaesthetic aspects of learning. In
MTP,the mother learns various aspects of her kid’s development and also gets to
understand the correct ways to get involved in the whole learning process. Brainy
Bear Pre-School’s curriculum is based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligence
pioneered by Dr. Howard Gardner, which values the various facets of
intelligence in the students. The pedagogy is designed to help children develop
their ability to utilize their intelligence cohesively.
Talking about Brainy Bear’s Mother
Toddler Programme,Ms. Chaturvedi said, “The program is based on the
premise that this would be the first time a child is coming out in an
environment where everything is new and hence this program is the best way to
introduce them to fun and learning in a safe environment with their mothers and
gradually wean them off to become independent preschoolers. Our staff as
well as the parents have witnessed a considerable increase in the confidence of
kids who participate in our Mother Toddler Programme. They gradually become
very comfortable and secure as the environment of the school becomes familiar
to them. Hence, when these kids transfer to the pre-school, they are quite
comfortable coming to the school without their mothers. The fact that the
teachers and the support staff are known to them removes their ‘first day at
school’ anxiety.”
