The Yatra aims to mobilize around 1 lakh students about the Government’s
Skill India Mission
AISECT-NSDC Kaushal Vikas Yatra 2016 is a nationwide initiative
across 275 districts in 19 states. These states include Gujarat, Madhya
Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab,
Bihar, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Orissa, Jammu & Kashmir, Tamil
Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Sikkim and Kerala. This Yatra will cover 478
locations in 26 days. The aim is to educate and mobilize around 1 lakh students
about the Government’s Skill India Mission and also about the skilling projects
being executed by AISECT in partnership with various Departments and Ministries
of the Central and State Governments. It also intends to make the youth aware
of the need of skill development in the nation for its sound economic growth.
As per AISECT’s Director Mr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, “This is the
sixth year when we will be conducting the Kaushal Vikas Yatra as an integral
part of our efforts to promote skill development at the grassroots level areas
of the country. Ever since the launch of the Skill India Mission, we have also used
the Yatra as a platform to propagate the various initiatives being introduced
by the Government under this scheme. In order for our nation to realize our
Prime Minister’s dream of making India the skill capital of the world,
awareness needs to be created and skills need to be developed even in the
remotest corners of the country. I hope that the Kushal Vikas Yatra will
enhance this process and enable more and more people to become trained and be a
part of India’s skilled workforce.”
AISECT focuses on providing vocational education to people from all
sections of the society at the small town, district, block and panchayat level
areas. The Group has also integrated skill development in the higher education
framework through its universities – the Dr C.V. Raman University in
Chhattisgarh, the AISECT University in Madhya Pradesh and the newly launched
campus of AISECT University in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand.
AISECT, which has a widespread
network of over 23,000 Skill Knowledge Provider Centres across
the country, has forged a partnership with NSDC with an aim to impart skills-based
training to over 13 lakh people
within 10 years. To fulfil this objective, AISECT not only works closely with
the Government for various skilling projects, but has also launched 12
academies through which it offers over 150 university certified undergraduate,
postgraduate, certificate and diploma courses in areas like IT & Management,
Hardware & Networking, Teacher Training, Telecom Skills, Retail Management,
Agriculture, Insurance, Banking & Finance, Textile Training, Fire Safety
& Security, Livelihood & Vocational Training and Auto Skills. Creating
awareness about the importance of skills in enhancing the job prospects of the
youth is an important aspect of the AISECT-NSDC partnership and the Kaushal
Vikas Yatra is a key step towards awareness generation.
Looking forward to your feedback.
Thanks & Regards,
Rashmi
