The 6th edition of the recently organized Young Hotelier's Summit in
Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne (EHL), Switzerland brought together 62
students from 31 schools across North America, Europe, Asia and
Africa. Students attended three days of workshop, keynote speakers and
focus groups, interacting with influential players in the hospitality
industry and working with delegates from other colleges.
Titled as Team 10/10 comprising Nirmitee Mehta (Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa),
Anna Church (Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne), Donal Ennis (Shannon College
of Hotel Management), Aaron Laurie (University of Guelph) and Maruan
Elana (MODUL University Vienna GmbH) were awarded with the 'Dorchester
Ultimate Experience' comprising a 7 day all expenses paid trip for each
team member plus a companion to their hotels in Milan, Paris and London
at the annual Young Hotelier's Summit.
Mr. Ravi Kapila, Dean Academics, Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa, praising Nirmitee

the Young Hoteliers Summit 2015 organized by Ecole Hoteliere de
Lausanne. Nirmitee Mehta won the Young Hotelier's Summit challenge by
Dorchester Collection on a 10/10 score .She won in a competition where
the best students from the best hospitality colleges in the world took
part. She is the first person from Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa to have ever
been on a YHS winning team. We at LEH wish her all the very best in her
future endeavors.”
On
the second day of the summit, the Dorchester Collection announced the
challenge for which the delegates were split into groups of five. The
teams were asked to design an organization structure that embraces
disruption by breaking down traditional hierarchies and promoting real
time communication and collaboration.
The
winning group was chosen based on the innovation behind their solution,
their perspective of looking inwards to outwards, the way they involved
everyone in the solution and its sustainability as they could
reposition the people they already have.
The
Young Hoteliers Summit is an annual event held from 16th to 18th March
by the students of Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne. It is the first
hospitality summit that brings together students from hotel schools and
industry companies from around the world and is centered on the
principles of collaboration towards the industry's main players,
dialogue and exchange of ideas.

Collection is a luxury hotel operator owned by the Brunei Investment
Agency (BIA), an arm of the Ministry of Finance of Brunei. Dorchester
Collection owns and manages 10 luxury five star hotels, The
