Shadow the Leader Program
A Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Young Bombay Forum initiative, showcasing philanthropy through leadership
Mumbai, 9th April, 2015: Young
Bombay Forum, the youth wing of Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry
today announced the launch of “Shadow the Leader Program”, an
innovative and unique program for promising entrepreneurs, professionals
and management students across the country to meet some of the biggest
names in corporate India.
The
program provides an opportunity for aspiring youngsters to follow a
business leader for a day or for a few hours and to understand what it
takes to succeed as a leader. The leader will be a guide for one day to
the promising entrepreneurs, professionals and management students for
business and augment art of giving.
Eminent corporate personalities who are participating include Industry stalwarts like Mr. Govind Shrikhande, MD, Shoppers Stop Limited; Mr. Anil Jain, MD, Jain Irrigation System; Mr. Ravi Kirpalani, MD, Castrol India Ltd; Mr. Ranjit Shahani, MD & Vice Chairman, Novartis India Ltd; Mr Ashok Barat, MD & CEO Forbes & Company Ltd; Mr. Cyril Shroff, Managing Partner, Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co.; Mr. R Mukundan, MD, Tata Chemicals Limited; Mr. Sunil Mathur, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Siemens Ltd.; Ms. Zia Mody, Founder & Senior Partner of AZB & Partners.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Ashith Kampani, Chairman, Young Bombay Forum and Member, Managing Committee - Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, “Shadow
the Leader program is a key initiative both in terms of learning &
philanthropy. Through this initiative BCCI is serving the dual purpose
of mobilizing funds for charity and providing promising youngsters with
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and learn from these global
leaders.”
Participants
for the program would be chosen through an online bidding process
allowing each participant to bid for no more than three CEOs in the
program. The bidding process is in association with eBay India and
begins from 22nd April, 2015 and closes on 29th April, 2015 at URL www.ebay.in/charity. Participants can view the program on http://bit.ly/ybfleader
Activities
for the forum designed around the theme “Shadow the Leader” aspire to
bring forth & overcome day to day challenges revolving around people
management, overcoming obstacles while working for a common goal.
Purely philanthropic and designed as a learning program, all the net
proceeds after defray expenses will be used for the benefits of the
underprivileged children through the partner NGOs.
