The
arrangement provides for Nova IVI Fertility to collaborate with Manipal
University including real-world clinical training to students, joint
research
studies and visiting faculty rights for its senior clinical doctors
Mumbai, April
14, 2015: Nova IVI Fertility (NIF), a subsidiary of Nova Medical Centers, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
Manipal University (MU), one of the highly recognized
universities in India, for research internships and projects, expert
support for curriculum, and preferential access for its Masters students
in the Clinical Embryology program. The collaboration
between NIF and MU entails the establishment of short-term internships
at NIF centers for students and job opportunities for deserving
candidates on completion of their studies. Manipal University is one of
only six universities in the world and the first
in India to have a structured Clinical Embryology program.
The
Masters of Science in Clinical Embryology will be offered by the
Kasturba Medical College; the first batch of up to six students will be
offered internship in May this year for a period of 3 to 4 weeks.
The agreement is in line with NIF’s commitment to have the best
in-house professionals delivering outstanding clinical outcomes.
Naresh Rao, CEO, Nova IVI Fertility
said, “We are delighted to sign this MoU with Manipal University, a
prestigious center of educational excellence. The establishment of
internships at NIF will allow us to evaluate the potential, attitude and
aptitude of students at our centers, even before
the completion of their Masters. It is a win-win situation for both
organizations. While the Manipal students would get trained in
sophisticated lab environments, Nova will benefit from the intake of
qualified junior embryologists at its centers. We are laying
the foundation of NIF’s growth model for the future in the best way
possible.”
NIF is expanding aggressively within India and this arrangement will allow the company to leverage the talent available.. The MoU provides NIF with visiting faculty rights in return for internships and research programs based on live data.
Dr. Satish Adiga, Professor and HOD, Department of Clinical Embryology, Manipal University
said, “We are glad to enter a pact with Nova IVI Fertility for
internship and eventual placement of our students. It has always been
our endeavor to offer our students real world experience of working in
the industry to give them a perspective beyond the
classroom. This internship program with NIF will allow them to gain
relevant knowledge and skills under the guidance of good mentors. And
full time work opportunities with NIF will add a lot of prestige and
substance to their resume.”
