New Delhi, 2nd May 2016 –
MasterCard ranked
#7 place on DiversityInc’s 2016 Top 50 Companies for Diversity list.
This recognition marks the fourth consecutive year MasterCard has been
ranked in the top ten for its commitment to diversity and inclusion.
In
addition, MasterCard has also been recognized on three of the 2016
Specialty Lists as one of the top companies for – Recruitment (ranked
#8), Diversity Council (ranked# 10) and Global Diversity (ranked #12).
At
MasterCard, the total number of employees stands at 11,300 globally.
MasterCard firmly believes that diversity and inclusion drives better
business. MasterCard has put an increased focus on its eight resource
groups, which is called ‘Business Resource Groups (BRGs)’.The idea of
these BRGs is to nurture an inclusive culture where employees with
wide-ranging backgrounds and qualities find themselves highly motivated,
engaged, and connected. About half of MasterCard’s
employees worldwide participate in these groups, of which there are 52
chapters worldwide. The BRGs are open for all employees to join.
DiversityInc’s
annual survey tracks the top companies of U.S. when it comes to hiring,
retaining and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities,
LGBT and veterans. It is the most rigorous, data-driven
survey of its kind, gauging detailed demographics based on
race/ethnicity and gender at some of the largest employers in the
nation. The survey is now in its 17th year and more than 1,800 companies participated in 2016.
