We are grateful to you for supporting SPIC MACAY in myriad ways. As you are
aware, SPIC MACAY is a non-profit, non-political, voluntary movement that
works towards preserving our rich and diverse cultural heritage and making
the youth of the present generation, more aware and capable of appreciating
it. With our volunteers and supporters today, more than Two Thousand
programs of classical music & dance, folk, yoga, traditional painting and
other art forms are being conducted annually across the country, graced by
the most eminent artistes of our times reaching out to a million youth.
We are pleased to inform you that SPIC MACAY, in association with Indian
Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) would be organizing its Kerala
State Convention at the IIMK Kozhikode campus, on Feb 22nd, 23rd, and 24th
2014.
State Conventions are the congregation of the people associated with this
Noble Cause, who spend 3 days in a unique ashram-like atmosphere.
There will be a series of programs of classical Music, Dance, Folk, Theatre,
Yoga and Talks by eminent artists .We would also be having Intensives and
Workshops conducted by inspiring gurus and master craftsmen. We believe that
one of the best ways of making students aware of the gentler, more
aesthetic, and diverse, yet integrated, strands of India's culture is by
systemically introducing them to various forms of Indian classical music and
dance in Schools, Colleges, and universities throughout the land conducted
on annual basis.
The Kerala State Convention will host classical stalwarts like Pt. Vishwa
Mohan Bhatt, Su Sh Sujata Mohapatra, Sh Amaan Ali Khan, Dr. L Subramanyam,
Sh Margi Madhu. Also features theatre by
Sh Kavalam Narayana Panicker, Ottamthullal by Mohana Krishnan, Shadow
Puppetry by Ramachandra Pulavar.
